Bird Aviary, Temaiken Zoo, Buenos Aires (AR)
Bird Aviary, Temaiken Zoo, Buenos Aires
With the ability to enter the enclosure and walk around freely, visitors are brought closer to viewing the birds in their habitat. Containing birds from all around the globe, the huge aviary consists of three separate sections. By using Jakob Webnet, the designer was able to create an animal enclosure with great transparency, without it looking at all like a cage. In fact, when looking up at the 12-metre-high steel arcs, the transparent Webnet structure is almost invisible.
“Made of weather-resistant stainless steel ropes, this natural home for birds doesn’t look at all like a cage, but instead provides a transparent and secure environment.”
